Hello! I beat this game and wanted to share my opinions on it! I will try my best keep this comment as spoiler free as possible incase anyone wants to play this themselves, but it is quite hard to do so and talk about the gameplay.
I thought it was actually quite enjoyable, gave me a nice distraction for about 70 minutes or so. I really loved the vibes of the visuals, and at times it gave me Edmund Mcmillen vibes almost. I also felt like the song fit, though it did get grating with how short the loop is. My main gripe is a technical issue, the game uses the stick for movement, which is a very inprecise input to use for a precision platform that sometimes expects close to pixel-perfect accuracy. I do wish there was an option to use the D-PAD if the keyboard is truly unusable. It felt like I was being punished in the later sections especially for my hardware. My secondary gripe is game design, which is a bit hard to talk about without spoiling anything but I will attempt. Also keep in mind this is my personal opinion and varies on your own tastes. To me, I thought the most interesting mechanic was the knowledge part, not the platformer part, but the reveals of the knowledge didn't feel too impactful with how they were presented? The part I found the most enjoyable and stuck out to me was how I found out things before I was supposed to from experimenting, and used that in my platforming to get to things far easier than I was intended with my current knowledge set.
Despite what I said, I really enjoyed my time playing this! The graphics looked nice, and the game did feel fairly tight and responsive when I wasn't being limited by my analog stick. I would recommend this game to other people for a short little experience.
Hi, thanks for playing and for the feedback! I've added D-PAD functionality and included a button on the screen to be able to mute the music.
This was just a short project as a homage to knowledge-based platformers so I didn't go too crazy with building it out, it's why the reveals are so simple.
I actually was trying to build it in a way that stopped the player from finding out things before they should but I'm glad you enjoyed doing the opposite of what I planned :)
